undertheskin_2850579b

Here is my list of favorite films of 2014. This is not a countdown of the list I consider the best of the year, but the ones I enjoyed the most. The entire list can be found here on letterboxd. I mentioned also the HBO miniseries Olive Kitteridge which doesn’t really count as a feature film but it is so worth seeing. Pleasure check it out. And without further ado, here are my favorite films of 2014:

  1. Good list! I’ve seen 19 of your top 30. Under The Skin, Boyhood, Nightcrawler, Force Majeure,The Double, and Grand Budapest Hotel and are in my top 20 too. Ida underwhelmed me, maybe my expectations were too high, I thought it was just ok. I just saw Edge of Tomorrow and is a really good action movie, didn’t matter about the repetitiveness(which I thought might be tiresome).

    1. I love those films. I am glad you’re a fan of them too. Ida is a hit or miss with audiences. I just thought it was breathtakingly beautiful.
Edge of Tomorrow is terrific. I saw it in a theater and it was so fun. I like that they didn’t make the whole repeating of the day boring. It could have been tiresome like you said but they succeeded in making something great. Maybe the ending is a bit underwhelming but the rest is memorable. Glad you liked it.

    1. Olive Kitteridge was so good. Amazing central performance. I want as many people as possible to discover this gem.

Glad that our lists look very similar. I’m sure Gone Girl looks stunning in Blu-Ray. That we’ll be a great addition to anyone’s film collection.
      Thanks for stopping by.
